Awhi Spaces facilitates cross-boundary making and transdisciplinary conversation.
These spaces embrace and support people to exchange knowledge, skills, wisdom and news. They are portals where traditional and emerging technologies and ideas can meet and cross pollinate.
The spaces are located in rest homes, empty shops, community halls and other locations where people come together in place.
Several activators are brought in to share their practice eg wearable technologists and tatters; 3D print designers and whittlers; film collectors and VJs. The people of those places can experience something new and contribute their own projects and ideas.
The goal is to create a dialogue across mediums, materialities, cultures, generations and dimensions.
Dates, spaces and mixtures to be announced in 2016. Some events will be open to the public to participate, others will be by invitation only. Please contact us if you want to participate in some way.
